Welcome Bags for SIWG

This week we have been supporting SIWG, The Social Isolation Working Group.
This group is made up of the
Rural Canterbury PHO, Waimakariri Council, Depression Support, Presbyterian Support, Neighbourhood Support, Victim Support and  Waimakariri Social Services.

They provide Welcome Packs for those new to the region,
especially renters or people in temporary accommodation.

Many of our students have got behind this project and have
decorated the bags used for the Welome Packs and they look great, well done guys!

The packs will have a number of items in it; a booklet currently available to new people targeted at connecting to basic amenities, newcomers network, timexchange, a library bookmark, neighbourhood support information, and a small rock from the
Waimakariri river (a little piece of the region to welcome people here).
